My name is Javid Sepehr, founder of Ultimate Piano Tech. I approach piano technology through a unique lens: the intersection of musical artistry and mechanical excellence.
My journey into the heart of the instrument began at the prestigious Paul Hahn & Co., where I spent five years in intensive training under the mentorship of Jamie Musslewhite. During my tenure there, I did more than just learn to tune; I mastered the complex art of piano rebuilding. This hands-on experience in the structural and mechanical restoration of world-class instruments allows me to understand your piano from the inside out—far beyond the surface of the keys.

With a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, I view the piano action as a sophisticated, high-performance machine. This academic background gives me a distinct advantage when diagnosing complex mechanical issues, performing precision regulation, or repair

Regulation/Adjustment

Beyond tuning, the mechanical components of your piano require precision adjustment to ensure the instrument responds to your touch.
Regulation: Adjusting the internal mechanisms so the keys feel consistent and the "touch sensitivity" is restored. This makes the piano play smoothly across the entire keyboard.
Hammers & Keys: Addressing sticking keys or worn hammers to improve tone quality and prevent mechanical "clicking" or sluggishness.
Pedal Adjustments: Ensuring the sustain and soft pedals are responsive and properly timed for expressive playing.

Ensure your piano remains in peak condition with my expert tuning services. Many pianos are sensitive to humidity and may require tuning after a change of season. If you play often and hard, or if you have a good musical ear, you may want a tuning more frequently. Many of my clients see me monthly - for which I charge a discounted rate. IMPORTANT: If you leave too long a time between tunings, your piano may need a pitch raise - essentially amounting to a double-tuning. Pianos are designed to be at a certain pitch. If the pitch falls too much, a standard tuning will not be as stable.
